Jackson 101
How will the altitude affect me?
At over 6,000 feet, Jackson Hole is quite literally breathtaking. It’s normal to feel lightheaded, more easily fatigued and experience shortness of breath at this elevation. For this reason, it’s crucial to stay hydrated and take it a bit slower on caffeine and alcohol when you first get into town. Some more tips on how to best navigate the altitude can be found HERE.
What is the temperature like?
Spring in Jackson Hole is what skiers dreams are made of! The backdrop of snow-capped mountains and bluebird skies is truly a sight to behold. However, Jackson Hole's weather is highly variable hour to hour. Mornings can start out with temperatures in the high 20s, rising to the mid 40s during the day, and as soon as the sun goes down the temperatures will drop sharply. We encourage packing many layers and warm outerwear. The sun is also much stronger at the higher elevation, so make sure to wear sunscreen (even in the winter!).
Where should I stay?
We strongly recommend staying at our wedding hotel, The Four Seasons for accessibility and convenience. Teton Village is completely walkable with some cute shops, restaurants and easy access to the mountain for skiing.
How do I get around Jackson Hole?
The START Bus is the local public transportation system that provides both a free in-town shuttle as well as a paid service to Teton Village, Wyoming; Teton County, Idaho; and Alpine, Wyoming. Numerous bus stops are strategically located around town. Be sure to arrive at your stop 5 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive and have exact cash fare ready, since drivers can’t make change and don’t accept credit cards. Uber is also available here!
Are children invited to join the celebration?
Although we love your little ones, we can not accommodate children at any of our wedding events.
